Attitude First has recruited one of the Valley of the Sun’s top Yoga instructor’s, Josh Stockman, to lead their members in experiencing the joys of regaining both balance and flexibility to their lives.

Yoga for the Soul can be described as Hatha Yoga. Hatha simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures, regardless of sequence or stylistic approach. Hatha practice was originally intended to calm the mind and make the body healthy for meditative purposes; however, many modern practitioners use yoga to increase muscle flexibility and joint mobility. These benefits have a tangible impact on performance in the martial arts, and other physical activities, and can promote overall good health.

The key to yoga lies in consistency, so yoga for the soul classes at Attitude First are designed with personal practice in mind. To that end, short sequences, which can be practiced alone, are taught with a focus on proper skeletal alignment.

There is no doubt that Josh is an expert at simplifying and encouraging new and advanced level practitioners alike to experience this beautiful art form. As Josh reminds us in every class: It is Yoga practice, not yoga perfect.
