Active Self Protection presents
Surviving a REAL attack

Realistic Encounter Action-based Learning (REAL)

There is nothing like taking real world situations to determine how you might protect and defend yourself and loved ones.  Join us as ACTIVE SELF PROTECTION’s very own John Correia reviews one of the ASP videos and leads the action to solve the situation with empty hands and the science of the martial arts.

This program is brought to you in conjunction with Attitude First Martial Arts Academy (AFMAA) Adult Program and Active Self Protection. This class has been designed for ages 13 and above.

Because of limited space non-members of the AFMAA will need to pre-register at least one day in-advance and pay a $20 non-refundable fee for each individual class attended, follow the event link below for details.

For AFMMA members: if you are already in our Teen or Adult program – just come to class and have a great time!

Please note: It is possible that the video’s shown and discussed will contain graphic images and words. This class is not eligible to be combined with any other offers from AFMAA or ASP.

About Active Self Protection (ASP):

We chose the name ASP as a means of expressing our purpose. “Active Self Protection” is our desire for ourselves and those we train, and it also points to an old term for a small, venomous snake in north Africa famous for its small size but potent bite when threatened. (and famous for being Cleopatra’s method of suicide) See the analogy there? A person doesn’t need to be big or threatening to be able to defend themselves if they are ready to go. Finally the acronym ASP also leads to our basic philosophy of self-defense, before, during, and after an encounter: Attitude, Skills, Plan. Having the proper Attitude, appropriate Skills, and a good Plan mean everything in a defensive encounter. So use ASP to assess your readiness to defend yourself and your loved ones

Active Self Protection wants to help others develop the Attitude, Skills, and Plan to better protect themselves and their loved ones from harm.

About Attitude First Martial Arts Academy (AFMAA) Adult Program:

The Adult Martial Art program is designed specifically around the needs participants have in the world called life. As we keep proving, you are never too old to start training in the martial arts, and you are definitely never too old to learn and grow.  For adults, the martial arts can give you the experiences to build great fitness levels, feel empowered, and more disciplined. It’s fun, interesting, and beneficial. Not to mention, you will also make great friends.

There is no doubt that everyone comes to Attitude First Martial Arts Academy for different reasons. Some people want to improve their fitness while others want to be more empowered in their daily activities. Some join us to learn self-defense while others train to build their confidence. Our martial art classes for adults are benefit-oriented and driven by your personal goals.

Our Kenpo program is a comprehensive approach that is not complicated. We have had every age group inside our academy from 3 to 65 and beyond.   You can start at any age, you don’t have to be in shape, or have some specific set of experiences.   You just have to bring your willingness and your attitude to learn and grow!

Our approach to the martial arts is built around three concepts: discipline, protection, and empowerment. Traditionally, these are referred to as body, mind, and spirit. Through the art of Kenpo Karate, individuals develop practical self-defense skills, leadership qualities, self-discipline, self-empowerment, great speaking skills, and more.
