Young Kids Martial Arts Program. Our Young Kids Martial Arts Program called “Lil’ Attitudes” is designed for the 3- to 6-year-olds whose parents want their child to learn self-confidence and self-discipline. What differentiates the Attitude First Martial Arts Academy (AFMAA) is that even though this class is filled with laughter, fun, and movement, the child will learn the basics of self-defense in the process. More importantly, the child will learn how to follow instructions, interact with others, the importance of exercise, when it is appropriate to use certain skills, being aware, and mostly, how to defend him/herself.

Young Kids Martial Arts Program

Lil’ Attitudes (Ages 4–6)

Our Lil’ Attitudes program is designed specifically for young children ages 4–6, helping them build confidence, discipline, and focus in a fun, structured environment.

At Attitude First Martial Arts Academy, we understand something most programs miss:
kids don’t learn through lectures… they learn through experience, movement, and play.

So yes, there’s laughter!

Yes, there’s energy.
But underneath all of that is a very intentional process.

Each class is built to help students:

  • Follow directions and stay on task
  • Develop awareness of themselves and others
  • Learn respect, control, and appropriate behavior
  • Build coordination, balance, and early athletic skills
  • Begin understanding when and how to use what they learn

And without even realizing it, they are being introduced to the fundamentals of self-defense.

Age-Appropriate by Design

After decades of teaching, we’ve learned a simple truth:
if you want young children to succeed, you must meet them where they are.

This 30-minute class is carefully structured around their attention span, learning style, and energy level. We use clear language, engaging activities, and repetition to help them succeed… not struggle.

Introduction to Martial Arts

Students are introduced to the foundations of Universal Martial Arts Sciences, a practical self-defense system that develops both physical skills and decision-making.

Through age-appropriate training, they begin exploring:

  • Basic strikes and movement
  • Simple defensive concepts
  • Forms and structured movement patterns
  • Partner interaction and controlled freestyle

At this stage, it’s not about creating fighters.
It’s about building a foundation for movement, confidence, and awareness that carries into everything they do.

The Real Goal

Most parents come in asking about self-defense.
What they really want is a child who listens, focuses, and believes in themselves.

That’s what Lil’ Attitudes delivers.
