Where to start?

All students in our Self Defense program need to learn the basic etiquette of the UMAS martial art system.  Learning the basic traditions is key to all of the other belts!

  1. Our learning Matrix
  2. Belt Tying
  3.  Bowing
  4. Saluting
  5. Salutation
  6. Kiai
  7. Safety
  8. Respect & More

UMAS Belt Cards

The Universal Martial Arts Sciences (UMAS) System is broken up into 8 major groupings, which also represent our belt colors: White, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, Brown, and Black.  Each belt has two or more levels to allow for additional segmentation (for example: beginning, intermediate, and advanced).  Each of our belts has specific information that must be learned.

The Following links will provide you with the latest “expectations” of Test Knowledge Requirements (pick the cards that represent the belt you are going to. ie, A current beginning yellow belt will download the Advanced White through Intermediate Yellow Belt Cards).

It is essential to remember that during testing, we are not only looking for memorization of the current material, but for the internalization of the principles applied to the old. In other words, remember what was taught in previous belts and continually improve your knowledge and skills.

BEGINNING PURPLE BELT (will be released soon)

INTERMEDIATE PURPLE BELT (will be released soon)

ADVANCE PURPLE BELT (will be released soon)
